I was fortunate to have Mike Bates as my realtor in the recent selling of my Honolulu house. My place, an older duplex, was in a unusual location on the mountainside. We knew it would be difficult to market; it would require a unique buyer with the imagination to fully see the potential. Of course, this was all happening during the height of the recent economic recession. And when things looked tough, Mike was still there with optimism and determination - and we did find that unique buyer.
Throughout, I sensed his loyalty to myself, his client. Then it got better. Surveyor...tent fumigation...what have you.... Here's where Mike's professionalism really shone through: I'd gone out on my own and got bids for all those necessary services; but Mike's knowledge and connections were superior to anything I could find. He got a better price than any bid I got; and the quality of the service was better than I could have hoped for.
He went beyond 'the call of duty' when he brought a pole saw to my house and helped cut tree branches to prepare for the tent fumigation. I'm so grateful for the excellent service that Mike provided.

I have known Mike since October 2006 and off and on we looked at places and he was always kind hearted to me. I was in Iraq and Mike had the patience and smarts to deal with me to complete a home sale. I trusted Mike like a brother me not even seeing the place. My husband and I really enjoyed working with Mike, I think the main reason is because unlike many other realtors, Mike is not a real talker, he is a real listener. Where most realtors really try to 'sell' you a house, Mike really tried to find you the right house.
