Hawaiʻi Kai is the largest of several communities at the eastern end of the island. This area was dredged to transform the shallow coastal inlet into marinas and waterways to replicate Venice, Italy.

Hawaii Kai information
Hawaii Kai real estate is among the finest on the island. In spite of the growth in Hawaii Kai, one of the few remaining undeveloped areas is a remnant of ancient Hawaiian history. The property on Hawaii Kai drive provides water from the spring and adjacent wetland active year round invites endagered alae`ula, a moorehen. This is the remains of an ancient fishpond that is said to be built by menehune.
Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve is near Hawaii Kai. It is one of the most spectacular natural resources, offering a sanctuary to diverse population of marine life and a large, rich coral reef.
