History of the Kahala name
Many believe that Kahala is named after a fish. In places outside of Hawaii, the Kahala is known as the Amberjack.
Others feel that Kahala's name traces back to the Hala Tree aka the Pandanus. The Hala tree is a common sight in Kahala and surrounding neighborhoods.
