Topography of Oahu
In areas along the shoreline we generally have level land and nice white sand beaches. The Ko'olau mountain range separates Honolulu from the Windward side. This range is very steep and is the islands watershed, collecting and providing most of the water used by island residents.
On the West side of the island (also known as the Leeward side) we have the Waianae mountain range. Mount Ka'ala is the tallest mountain in this range and all of Oahu, standing 4,025 feet above sea level.
